Couple Met At Gordon Library

Gordon State College’s Benjamin Thomas and Jada Johnson met at Hightower Library back in the fall of 2018 and have remained together since that special day over three years ago.

Benjamin, a senior health information management major, first saw Jada, a management & administration graduate, as she was walking to the printer to get papers for her group assignment. Benjamin noticed Jada and decided to speak to her.

“Every since the moment we met each other in the library, we created a strong bond,” Jada said.

Since then, both were active members on campus, participating in organizations such as SGA, Brother 2 Brother and FEMALE, and worked as resident assistants. In the spring of 2021, the couple was crowned Mr. and Ms. Gordon State College at Homecoming.

“Being at Gordon has allowed us to create long-lasting relationships with faculty and friends. We have also expanded our learning through the many different resources available on campus,” Benjamin said.

Jada currently works as a Human Resources Representative for the City of Atlanta and after graduating this spring, Benjamin hopes to start his career as an Application Analyst at Children Healthcare of Atlanta. The pair’s future plans involve working towards their goals to become successful in their respective career paths and growing together just as they have been from the start.
