Fleissner Lecture on FDR is Tuesday
Jim Fleissner will present a lecture to GSC students, faculty, staff and guests Tuesday on President Franklin Roosevelt's 1938 visit to Barnesville.
Fleissner is a law professor at Mercer University School of Law and has written on the political feud between Ga. Senator Walter F. George and FDR. He is currently working on a book on Roosevelt's visit to Georgia in August 1938 to celebrate the electrification of rural Georgia.
The lecture, "August 11, 1938: Gordon and Barnesville at the Epicenter of American Politics" is Tuesday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Nursing and Allied Health Sciences building. The lecture is free, and the public is invited to attend.
Parking is available in the faculty/staff lot adjacent to the Nursing building off Spencer Street.
