USG Chancellor names Dr. Margaret Venable interim president of Dalton State College

 

Gordon State College Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Margaret Venable, has been named interim president of Dalton State College.

Venable will assume her new role Jan. 1, 2015

"I am excited about this new opportunity, and I know I leave Gordon State College in good hands," Venable said.

Venable came to Gordon State in May 2013 from the Oconee Campus of the University of North Georgia where she served as vice president and CEO. At Gordon she was the second ranking administrative officer and the chief academic officer of the college.

She holds a PhD in science education from Georgia State University, a master's degree in inorganic chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Agnes Scott College.
