Gordon State College and Fort Valley State University (FVSU) have signed an agreement, paving the way for GSC students to access FVSU's Master of Science degree programs.
“This articulation agreement is a pivotal step towards fostering academic collaboration and student success. It provides students with a seamless pathway to further their education, enhance their skills, and achieve their academic and career goals,” said Olufunke Fontenot, Ed.D., FVSU provost and vice president for academic affairs. “By streamlining the transfer process and promoting a cohesive educational experience, this partnership empowers students to pursue advanced degrees and professional opportunities with confidence and support.”
GSC students seeking admission to the master's program will have a range of options to choose from, including animal science, biotechnology, clinical mental health, public health, rehabilitation counseling, and social work. Through this agreement, FVSU will waive the application fee.
Before gaining formal admission as graduate students, GSC seniors can enroll in a maximum of nine graduate credits at FVSU as transient students under the FVSU Senior Admission Policy. Both institutions will provide extensive advising and counseling support to students enrolled in the program.
“This partnership will truly give our students the opportunity to further their education by earning master level credits while at GSC,” said Joanne Ardovini, Ph.D., GSC provost and vice president for academic and student affairs. “This agreement demonstrates our commitment to our mission of providing access to education for our students and the state of Georgia.”
