Coleman Named Interim Vice President for Student Affairs

Gordon State College President Dr. Kirk A. Nooks has named Tonya Coleman Interim Vice President for Student Affairs.
Coleman, currently the Director of Residence Life, fills the position left vacant due to the recent retirement of Dr. Dennis Chamberlain.
"I am thankful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity," Coleman said. "Gordon is a great place for learning and leading on all levels, filled with a wealth of campus collaborators. Dr. Chamberlain's leadership and commitment to the college provided insight for building and maintaining those collaborations. In this transition, the Student Affairs staff will continue the work of serving and supporting students with our campus partners."
Coleman, who has been at Gordon State College for 20 years, earned her undergraduate degree in education and graduate degree in public administration from Valdosta State University. She is completing work toward an EdD in Education Leadership and Management and will receive her degree in August.
A search is underway to fill the position of Vice President for Student Affairs which has been expanded to include Enrollment Management.
