About the book:
Memories of the Mansion: The Story of Georgia's Governor's Mansion, co-authored by First Lady Sandra Deal, is a history of the Georgia Governor's Mansion told through stories and experiences of the First Families who've lived there. The authors worked closely with the Maddox, Carter, Busbee, Harris, Miller, Barnes and Perdue families to include their memories and behind-the-scene photos of life in the Mansion.
"The Mansion belongs to the people of Georgia, and this book is an effort to share and preserve its rich history," Deal said. "All homes have a story to tell, and the Governor's Mansion is no exception."
