Gordon State College students will return to campus next week with resident students moving in Saturday, August 5 and commuter students joining them for classes starting Wednesday, August 9.
"This year move-in day has been streamlined to a one day event," said Tamara Boatwright, Gordon State College public information officer. "It's a check-in, move-in plan that we think the students will appreciate."
Students will park in the lot adjacent to the athletic fields, make their way to the Student Activity and Recreation Center and complete their check-in process. Representatives from other administrative offices will be stationed in the SARC to handle any last minute needs of the students.
"Students will be moving in between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. and we want our neighbors to know that traffic along Highlander Drive, College Drive and Spencer Street might be slightly congested," said Boatwright.
"As commuters, especially freshmen, return to campus the following Wednesday, it is recommended that they give themselves a little extra time to acclimate to parking areas and campus layout," Boatwright said. "A great resource for all students is the My Gordon Mobile app available for free on Google Play and the Apple App Store."
Faculty will return to campus Monday, July 31.
