This year's recipients of a Gordon State College Outstanding Student Award include: Jared James Gillis, Mathematics; Teresa Thompson, Tutor of the Year; Peyton Maynard, Honors Program; Jessica Leonard, School of Nursing and Health Sciences; Katie Odegaard, Overall Academic Student of the Year, Biology; Jesse Wayne Bennett Business and Public Service; Greg Jones, History; Maci Shearouse, Education; Hannah Haden, Humanities. During a dinner in their honor, each student received recognition for their outstanding achievement and for their contribution to the academic culture of Gordon State College. In recognizing the students Gordon State President Max Burns said that he was proud to have students like these represent Gordon State College.
