Gordon State College will welcome more than 200 alumni back to campus this weekend for the annual Alumni Weekend.
The festivities start Friday with registration opening at the Alumni House on Stafford Avenue.
Registrants will have the day to reunite with friends, walk around the campus and take in a Highlanders baseball game against South Georgia College at 7 p.m.
Registration reopens Saturday at 9. Lunch will be held in the courtyard behind the Alumni House on Stafford Avenue from 11:30 to 1:30.
At 4 p.m. a ceremony to recognize Vietnam-era veterans will be held at the Military Memorial adjacent to the Hightower Collaborative Learning Center and Library. Each veteran who pre-registered for the event will be presented a Georgia State Certificate of Honor and the U.S. Department of Defense Vietnam War 50th Anniversary lapel pin.
The weekend continues in Highlander Hall of the Student Center at 5 with the Alumni Dinner Dance featuring music by the band Junkshun lead by alumnus Jim Graham.
The weekend's festivities conclude Sunday with the farewell breakfast from 8 to 10.
"We are always excited to have alumni return to campus," said alumna Rhonda Toon, Gordon State College Vice President of Institutional Advancement. "New friendships are made, old ones are renewed and stories are always shared."
