The Gordon State College School of Nursing is accepting applications for the pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program.
The pre-licensure BSN is for students who do not have a nursing license but are seeking a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing that will prepare them for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).
The program is flexible and core classes required during the first two years can be completed at Gordon State's main campus in Barnesville or at Gordon State College at McDonough in Henry County. The final two years must be completed through the GSC School of Nursing on campus.
The pre-licensure BSN degree program helps address Georgia's need for a better educated workforce. Surveys by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) indicate that nearly 50 percent of hospitals and other healthcare settings are requiring new hires to have a bachelor's degree in nursing, while nearly 80 percent of employers are expressing a strong preference for BSN program graduates.
The deadline to apply is Monday, April 17 at 4 p.m. The application is available online at http://gordonstate.edu/bsn/bachelor-of-science-nursing
