Gordon State College Recital Series - Dinner and a Show - Continues November 7

The Gordon State College Recital Series continues Monday, Nov. 7 with Dinner and a Show featuring the Fortunato Trio.

The trio features mezzo-soprano D'anna Fortunato, Peter H. Bloom on flute and Mary Jane Rupert on piano.

Grammy-nominated mezzo-soprano, D'Anna Fortunato is widely considered to be one of America's premier concert/oratorio singers, while having established herself as a respected operatic artist as well.

Peter H. Bloom, flute and Mary Jane Rupert, piano have performed with Fortunato for many years, and they tour the globe as the Duo "2."

The "Dinner" portion of the show offers a four course dinner featuring a choice of appetizers -- crab cake, scallops, salad - a soup course of roasted butternut squash -- a choice of entrees that include salmon, short ribs or edamame succotash and a choice of crème brule cheesecake or pumpkin panna cotta for dessert.

The Series continues in 2017 with a performance by Jonathan Adam Hayes on trumpet, February 22.

Jonathan Adam Hayes is an internationally recognized performer, educator, and clinician. A versatile musician, Adam has performed on trumpet throughout North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, including performances with more than 40 professional orchestras throughout the world.

The series concludes with a performance by John Boonenberg on piano, Thursday, April 6, 2017.

John Boonenberg is a highly versatile, prize-winning pianist who has performed both nationally and internationally to great acclaim. He has appeared in solo recital and as concerto soloist in Germany, Poland, Puerto Rico, Czech Republic, Italy, and across the U.S.

He has participated in festivals including the Internationale Konzertarbeitswochen in Goslar, Germany, the Prague International Piano Masterclasses in the Czech Republic, the Poland International Music Festival in Naleczow, the Gilmore International Keyboard Festival in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, North Carolina, and Interlochen Summer Arts Academy.

All performances are presented on the stage of the Gordon State College Fine Arts Theater and begin at 7:30 p.m.

Performance only tickets are available at the door and are $10 for adults and $7 for senior citizens. Dinner and a Show is $25 per person and offers a shuttle from the Highlander Dining Hall to the Fine Arts Theatre and back. To make reservations for Dinner and a Show call 678-359-5052
