The Gordon State College Theatre will present Wait Until Dark with the show opening Wednesday.

Forty-seven years after Wait Until Dark premiered on Broadway, Jeffrey Hatcher has adapted Frederick Knott's 1966 original, giving it a new setting.

In 1944 Greenwich Village, Susan Hendrix, a blind yet capable woman, is imperiled by a trio of men in her own apartment. As the climax builds, Susan discovers that her blindness just might be the key to her escape, but she and her tormentors must wait until dark to play out this classic thriller's chilling conclusion. Replete with physical combat, surprise corpses, knife-throws and plot-twists, this production is sure to thrill.

This production of Wait Until Dark features Gordon State College students onstage and Lisa Cesnik- Ferguson, assistant professor of theatre, in her directorial debut.

Ferguson recently joined the GSC faculty after operating the Rose of Athens Theatre, a professional theatre in Athens, for nearly 10 years.

Tony Pearson, associate professor of theatre, will dazzle with his scenic designs and lighting. Additionally, an artistic partnership with one of the best fight directors in the Southeast brings the talents of Mercer University's Scot Mann to the production.

Susan ........................................................................ Maleah Hatcher
